For parents new to the Dutch school system

Schoolwegwijzer gives free practice for children in group 6, 7 and 8 and explains the Dutch school system in simple language. You do not need an account. Your child can start practicing immediately.
How to start in 5 minutes
Choose your child’s group, let your child answer a few questions, then read the explanation together. Short sessions work better than pressure.

Schoolwegwijzer is practice and explanation. It does not give official school advice. Always discuss official decisions with the teacher or school.
A simple first plan
- Pick one subject: reading, language or maths.
- Practice 10 minutes, not one hour.
- Ask your child: “How did you think?” instead of only checking the score.
- Write down one question for the teacher if something is unclear.
